See race results on page 9._BRODHEAD WANTS NERWMA TO RE-EVALUATE In a resolution passed last week, the Rural Municipality ofBrokenhead has asked that the North Eastern Regional Waste Management Authority “suspend further actions until such time as questions regarding the viability of the smaller region can be an swered.” This comes on the heels of Lac du Bonnet withdrawing from the NERWMA. The resolution states that Lac du Bonnet’s withdrawal has fractured the region into two separate areas and that the remaining areas are not large enough to meet “regional requirements’ ’. The motion was moved by councillor Glenn Keilback and seconded by councillor Herb Kowalke. Brokenhead reeve Clarence Baker said “the entire process needs time to shake out. With Lac du Bonnet’s withdrawal from the group, we can’t really define what our region is. The entire thing is in a state of flux and we can’t justify spending any more money on it until we know more.” Baker said that with a possible change in government (with the upcoming provincial election) the regulations could change. He also acknowledged that the R.M. of St. Clements is considering the possibility of joining the Authority,so“sometimeisneeded to consider all the possibilities. ;
