future with President Bush as they flew on Air Force One to mate an appearance in Scranton on Jan During the course of the day we talked about everything from Iraq to medical mal- practice and toward the end I raised local issue which is the veterans Greenwood said I explained to him that this is a clinic that serves a lot of deserving veterans particularly WWII vets who have trouble traveling to the hospitals further away I told him all we were asking was that once a week or so a couple people drive up from Philadelphia rather than a lot of veterans drive into Philadelphia Greenwood said presidential adviser Karl Rove took notes as they talked Though neither man made any promises Greenwood said bringing it to their tion couldn't hurt The president may have to intervene directly to get thai message to the Veterans Affairs Department though Dan Fraley just returned from a trip to Washington where he lobbied the VA to keep the office open He said the reception was cool With employees
