Local Nude Art Exhibit Not Offensive Rookie exhibitor plans to revitalize arts around Bachman Lake By Marina Trahan Martinez Staff Writer The Bachman Lake area is openly promoting nude models This time its not tacky but tastefully ing They approach it with such a passion that is fasci and intriguing to me said coordinator Stefan Hernandez She and space owner Sue Flynn teamed to exhibit a 2 D Dolores a model who asked that her surname not be used To me youre see ing shapes and the emotions that they bring I guess peo ple confuse nude art with sexuality because sexuality has nudity but people should see them as two totally dif ferent things she said Its an emotional thing Dolores modeled for the piece Woman by Hadar Sobol She said any one who perceives nudity as distasteful hasnt appreciated the beauty of a human body I think thats their person al problem she said Were all nude at some time in our lives To me its like any thing its like music but its on paper Sobol arrived bet on her 40th birthday Its the single most empowering thing Ive ever done she said I dont think Ive even been on a scale since I started modeling Dolores said nude model ing is not uncomfortable except for the occasional chilly studio but is an oppor for artists to create a replica of the human anato my and the complex feelings that accompany humanity Im invisible she said Theyre not seeing me theyre seeing who they think I am Hernandez wishes that more artists and art support ers will help realize her ideas for events around the lake Sec NUDE Page ambitions are beginning to get spooky in Dallas By Glenn Arbery Senior Editor A couple of weeks ago in a lecture at SMU energy shortage prophet James Howard Kunstler had a good time at the expense of the millionaires in the corporate offices of Google in Silicon Valley He described the candy machines every few yards the games everywhere and the eerie optimism about technology characteristic of people who have never expe hunger or limitation When Kunstler tried to tell them that the worlds oil was running out they responded Dude weve got technolo gy Whether or not a world oil crisis a decade or so from now will make skill at mov ing pixels around on a screen look frivolous as Kunstler thinks Google is most certainly on a roll undertaking massive new projects month after month Google Print for example premiered last week
