Presbyterian steeple last week Steeple Gets New Shine structure The steeple at Westminster Presbyterian Church received a new paint job and new windows last week some of the first renovations to the struc ture since it was built in the early All eight windows in the steeple were replaced with Pel la brand replicas of the original win dows after leaks and cracks were discovered The halogen light that shines on the pointed white steeple will also be replaced cleaned and refocused before the end of August The location on Devonshire Drive is the third for Westminster Presbyterian The church originally opened on Fairmount Avenue in the Afterwards it moved to Swiss Avenue After World War II as Dallas expanded northward church leaders decided to move to its current location Tom Chambers who helped oversee the steeple reno said cleaning up the steeple means as much to Devonshire neighborhood residents as it does to mem bers of the church Its kind of a beacon in the community he said Staff
