FAIRS 115TH ANNIVERSARY Sight for Sore Eyes The Fayette County which now ranks 9th in size in actual fairs in will present its 115 annual showing to the public beginning August and if present plans jell to actuality this summers fair should improve that rating to an even higher statewide At a meeting last Thursday even ing at Boot Hill Supper Club in West Fair Secre tary outlined plans for the 1968 event to representa tives of area newspapers After a supper and in of several members of the Fayette County Fair Alcorn outlined plans for the August He stated that more emphasis would be placed on even ing shows as he put Fair patrons in this area are just as sophisticated as anywhere in the They demand quality and we are going to give them the kind of shows they We regret that these types show will be Lassie of TV For the speed buffs who always patronize the fair in force there will be Class A Stock Car racing on August American Motor cycle Association sanctioned Mo racing on Sunday after August and in the evening of that same day there will be a 100 Car Demolition Derby fea turing area drivers competing for in prize For the rodeo fan the Board has booked the Barnes Champion ship RCA Sanctioned Professional Contest Rodeo featuring Cowboy Star Rex Allen and his musical The Men Of The This fine rodeo will be staged on Thursday and Friday Friday afternoons Grandstand Show will feature a Junior Horse Also for lovers of the old fashioned fair menu will be a Horse Pulling Contest on Saturday after Horses of two weight classes will be competing for over in prize A gigantic parade in observance of the ll 5th anniversary of the Fay ette County Fair will be staged on Thursday August Following a route through the streets of West Union and then past the Prizes will be a
