kill existing programs it won't work We may be back where we were in the 1940s Skelton whose school system doesn't benefit directly from re- venue sharing agrees We have heard rumors that many programs which affect us will be cut back by 13 per cent or eliminated the schoolman notes We have a prime example right now in our school system We've been promised money for our second semester money will have to be made j have its budget cut drastically up by the state which means l and could be phased out Ada will have to take its share next year Revenue of the reduction in school funds ring is great but if it's Manpower programs have been frozen Cook says We normally have 12 to 15 people working for the city will not be replaced ded to replace funds for our current programs it will mean we have less money in the long run Both men say they understand when they finish the program the President's moves and they I understand the emergency think they know his motives employment program will be gone by June We also hear HUD is in absolute panic have no housing program He's trying to cut the red tape and at the same time reduce the federal Cook says So many thousands of people are frozen into the bureaucracy that the President has less and less control over the actual tion of the government I think he's trying to weed out the old-line bureaucrats who will not administer his es then replace them in two years with others who will be more consistent He's having to work with people who go as far back as the Roosevelt administration However he's taking quite a gamble If he cuts out HUD See Revenue Page 2 Some crop up for Latin
