OKLAHOMA TUESDAY DECEMBER 12 1961 Aircraft Attacks Installations At Elisabethville LEOPOLDVILLE The Congo craft attacked Elisabethville Airport four times before dawn today dropping 26 bombs without damaging installations the command announced The headquarters in the Katanga capital also came under heavy attack during the night the spokesman said from mortar batteries located on a ridge west of the headquarters building The spokesman said he did not know the origin or type of the aircraft that attacked the airport or if more than one plane made the attack Bombs were dropped over a five-hour period beginning at midnight The Katanga mission in Brussels said the United tions attacked President Moise Tshombe's residence a veritable stronghold in Elisabethville It was not clear the attack referred to shelling or an attack by planes Two Indian Gurkha troops were killed and one wounded in the at- tack on the headquarters the United Nations announced It said this brought casualties in the proposed route for an ern turnpike has been revived and the Tulsa Chamber of Commerce wants the Oklahoma Turnpike to grant a hearing on the idea The Tulsa chamber asked for the hearing in a letter to the Monday The McAlester chamber meanwhile came up with a proposal to shorten the toll road by 10 miles Tulsa chamber President D J Tuepker in to ity Chairman Marvin Millward said the Henryetta McAlester route was the original proposal but had been abandoned in favor of a location The route Tuepker said had been shown to be not feasible The McAlester chamber is ing that a study be made of
