The archives are a great place to find forgotten newsworthy things about your family. When you search for their names in the various locations where your family lived, you can be amazed at what you find.
Sometimes there are hundreds of old articles about varying members of your family. It was news on those days, and it's still surprisingly fresh to look at it again. There may also be many articles that you never saw the first time that they came out.
Even the old ads from those days can be charming.
Start a file of family-related articles or even individual files for each family member, and then send them out for your family to see.
Plus, reprints of the most significant family newspaper memories make great presents, and can be framed for permanent display.
